Bailey honored by NIU Alumni Association

Daniel J. Bailey, ’05, M.S. ’06, was honored by the NIU Alumni Association at its annual awards dinner May 4 with the Outstanding College Alumni Award for the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

Bailey is a supply chain business analyst for Nestle U.S.A. He has worked for the company since receiving his master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering in 2006, starting as an industrial engineer and then moving up the ladder to process specialist (2009) and then to his current role (2012).

Bailey’s accomplishments in improving operations at Nestle’s distribution centers include implementing an incentive-based pay system, creating grassroots process improvements and implementing cost savings initiatives.

Bailey has sponsored multiple senior design and Engineers in Residence projects for the college. In 2014, he received an alumni award from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. He was also the ISYE Graduate Student of the Year in 2006 and ISYE Undergraduate of the Year in 2005.
