More than 400 engineering students are expected at the 2019 Fall Job and Internship Fair hosted by the Northern Illinois University’s (NIU) College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, where 60 local manufacturing companies will turn out to recruit for full-time and part-time jobs, co-ops and internships.
The event, which is open to the NIU students, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holmes Student Center, 340 Carroll Ave in DeKalb.
“NIU is a great pipeline for employees for Collins Aerospace,” said Chris Griffiths, Executive Director of Program Development for Collins Aerospace of Rockford. “The quality of the students from NIU always continues to impress. As an alumnus of NIU, class of 1994, I have seen the investment in the CEET, which improves the quality of education of the students and prepares them for future success.”
Registration is $400. Nonprofit companies can register at a discounted rate of $200. Organizations who register by Oct. 3 will receive a $50 discount. “NIU is a hidden gem in northern Illinois,” said Griffiths. “I would encourage local industries to get involved with the CEET program at NIU. It provides a great pipeline of talented future employees.”
