We’re thrilled to congratulate one of our own from NIU’s College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, Associate Professor Mahdi Vaezi, on being selected as a “2025 Researcher to Know” by the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition (ISTC).
It’s a well-deserved recognition for Vaezi, who since 2018 has been a member of our faculty in the Department of Engineering Technology. His work, including his leadership of the NIU Bioplastics Lab, is making a meaningful impact in his field and beyond. And it’s part of a broader team effort.
As Vaezi noted: “Without building a team that is motivated, respected, and passionate about the work, and without fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration, meaningful impact will never be achieved. My mission is to lead with purpose, empower others, and create a research environment where innovation and human potential thrive together.”
