Double CEET grad William Stein joins NIU Alumni Association Board

Congratulations to William Stein, a double CEET graduate who is one of the newest NIU Alumni Association board members.

Stein, who earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1995 and a master’s degree in industrial management in 1998, said he is “proud to represent NIU in the world.”

William Stein, double CEET grad

A native of Rockford who now resides in Arizona with his wife, Beth, Stein is Nokia’s principal logistics manager for Hardware Service Delivery Americas.

Stein’s service on the Alumni Association board, which began July 1, is only the latest in a robust history of support for CEET and NIU. He’s been an engaged NIU Alumni Association Arizona alumni representative for the past seven years and has served as a volunteer critiquing CEET students’ senior design projects.

Among other accolades, Stein received the “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award” for the 2022-2023 academic year at the Maricopa County Community College’s Rio Salado campus, where he has served as the engineering adjunct lead faculty member since 2022.

“I am very approachable,” Stein said. “Talk to me any time if you want to discuss NIU, running, travel or cats. We can also chat about food, wine or whiskey. I am a credentialed chef and have taken sommelier classes with the hope of being fully certified one day.”
