Congratulations to this year’s honorees at the Scholarship, Staff, Faculty and Student Awards ceremony. Held on May 2 at the NIU Convocation Center, the awards were conferred after a keynote speech by CEET double alum Joe Sener and concluded a day that featured 55 student teams demonstrating their capstone projects at the Senior Design Project Showcase.
Honorees included:
Outstanding Research Award: Jaejin Hwang, associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Outstanding Teaching Award: Iman Salehinia, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Outstanding Staff Award: Tracy Mereness, office manager for the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Outstanding Freshman Award for Academic Achievement: Angelica Sanyal.
Outstanding Junior Award for Academic Achievement: Jack Rissman.
Outstanding Senior Award for Academic Achievement: Grace Harlan.
Outstanding Student Organization Award for Service and Engagement: NIU Robotics Club.
Dean’s Alumni Award: Natalia Knutsen.
