3D Printing Replaces Historical Artifacts

Our students in the Makers Space helped the McHenry County Historical Society replace some missing artifacts with 3D printed replicas. The team worked to replace two missing lids, pieces of a pull toy, a hammer handle and a rolling pin handle. Future projects may include creating complete replicas of a candle holder, for example, that would allow visitors to the museum the chance to actually touch the items.

This project represents just one of the many opportunities our students have to apply what they learn and experience hands-on engineering projects throughout their education here at CEET!#whyengineering #niuceet
